Giusy Ferraro

Giusy is a graduated in Marine Biology and Ecology at the University of Messina with a thesis on the behaviour of bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) in the Aeolian islands. She carried out a master in Marine Biology at the University of Messina with a dissertation on the characterisation of algal samples on the carapace of Caretta caretta in collaboration with the Univerisity of La Corugna in Spain. She has taken part of various volunteering projects and rescue of sea turtles in different Italian structures. She is a collaborator of Filicudi WildLife Conservation from different years, collaborating in every projects on the protection of cetaceans and sea turtles. During the summer period, she organises courses on algae for university students, snorkelling and trekking activities, and carries out different activities of environmental education in the site of the organisation. She is currently working at the Istituto Superiore di Sanità in Rome.
