Chiara Bruno

Chiara is a graduated in Marine Biology and Ecology with a thesis on the analysis of females reproductive parameters of bottlenose dolphins in the Aeolian islands. She is specialising in Marine biology and Ecology Of The Coastal Marine Environment at the University of Messina. 

In 2011 she took part in the volunteering project on first aid and rescue of Caretta caretta, and monitoring of nests sites at Centro Recupero Tartarughe marine di Brancaleone (RC). In 2012 she has taken part as a volunteer in projects of protection of the marine ecosystem of the Aeolian islands with particular focus on the monitoring of cetaceans and sea turtle with Filicudi Wildlife Conservation. From 2016 she is a collaborator of the organisation on every project on cetaceans and sea turtle protection. During the summer, she organises courses on micro plastic for university students, snorkelling and trekking activities, and she promotes activities on environmental education and marine biology for children in the site of Filicudi Wildlife Conservation. She is the winner of the Ascobams ECS Student Award 2018. She is currently carrying out her master thesis on the presence of micro plastic and macro plastic in cloacal samples of Caretta caretta.
